EHAS excursions: Summer 2018
For this summer the following excursions are proposed but they will only take place if there is sufficient interest. There is no booking charge, members will pay on the day at party rates as far as possible.
24 June 2018 A visit in cars to the Whitewebbs park area to see Myddelton House, Forty Hall and the New River pumping station with the steam engine from Turnford. Meet at 1pm in the car park at Myddelton House - postcode EN2 9HG. This event follows on from the talk at the AGM in April about Hugh Myddelton and the New River.
Date to be confirmed. A visit to Cromer Farm, last visited by EHAS a hundred years ago and photographed for our transactions. The Cromer windmill has been renovated recently and will be included in the visit. Tea at Westmill.
22 Sept 2018. A coach visit to North London sites from the Medieval period, The Charterhouse, The Priory of St John, and Sutton House. This will be a joint visit with the Friends of St Michael’s Church and other local societies. Coach will leave Tesco Hertford at 8am, the rear of Thorley Sainsbury at 8.30am and St Michael’s at 9am. There will be breaks for lunch and tea with return at 4.30pm, arriving 6pm.

Response to our excursions has been very disappointing in the past few years with attendance in single figures. There is no point in preparing trips if the members are really not interested in participating. Please support your society!
